Fall 2020 - Pledge Class


Aprile is from Queens in NYC. On campus, she does research on early childhood cognition and adolescent ovarian development in the ECC and Lujan Labs and is a member of APO, Phi Sigma Pi, Weill-Ithaca Network, Period@Cornell, Cornell Catholic, and CAPSU. In her free time, she enjoys photography and brushing up on her ballet and contemporary dancing skills.

Alex is from Mequon, Wisconsin. Outside of school, she spends her time with the Cornell Orchestra as a violinist, a writer for Creme de Cornell, and a research assistant for the Berry Lab looking into metabolism in adipose and muscle tissue. She hopes to get an MD Ph.D. and become a physician-scientist.

Anaisa was born and raised in Miami, Florida, where she volunteers and provides her photography skills for nonprofits. She is a Biology Scholar, a Kessler Presidential Scholar, and a member of the Undergraduate Research Board. She has an interest in Neuroscience and Behavior as well as a love for the French Language. Anaisa aims to pursue an MD/PhD degree.

Caitlin is from Lincroft, New Jersey, and spends her time at home working at a local summer camp. On campus, she is involved in Big Red Ambassadors, CURB PMP, and is a research assistant in the Department of Molecular Biology. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and snowboarding.

Anum is from Northern Virginia. On campus, she is a member of Alpha Phi Omega and PATCH. At home, she spends most of her free time volunteering at a local respite care facility for children with intellectual disabilities. Over the summers, Anum works for Pakistan’s The Citizens Foundation. She loves spending time on the slope, taking photographs, and hiking.

Madison is from North Potomac, Maryland and serves as the recruitment chair of Consent Ed Cornell and an Arts and Sciences Ambassador. She has enjoyed her summer research programs at the National Institutes of Health during the summers. In her free time, Madison enjoys train running and playing jazz piano.

Claudia is from upstate New York and is hoping to become a pediatric specialist. She is passionate about volunteering with the special needs community. Nicole Iori is a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences from Westchester, New York. In addition to Rho Psi Eta, she is involved in a caloric titration research team led by Dr. David Levitsky. She is a member of the Beta chapter of Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity, where she currently serves as Chapter Events Director.

Over the summers, since her sophomore year of high school, she has worked as a research intern in a Columbia University laboratory studying neuroscience.

Julia is from Brooklyn, NY. She transferred from SUNY Binghamton her sophomore year. She is passionate about studying the US healthcare system as well as infectious disease in the global south. At home, she interns at a pediatric office and volunteers at a meal center for the homeless. Additionally, she loves working with kids and enjoys running,  and playing guitar in her free time.

Julia wants to pursue both medicine and public health through a combined MD/MPH program. In her spare time, she loves to travel and has a goal to visit every continent, which fuels her passion for global health.

At Cornell, she is involved in PATCH, CURB’s Peer Mentorship Program, the Big Red Marching Band, and REACH as a tutor for Fall Creek Elementary. In her free time, she enjoys yoga as well as playing the flute and piccolo.
