Since community service is one of Rho Psi Eta's founding principles, every semester we hold a fundraising event and have community service projects. As future healthcare workers, it is important for us to give back to the communities we are involved in, even in times of confusion and hardship.
Due to COVID-19, our organization was entirely online the Spring 2020 semester, which affected our options regarding philanthropy. As our fundraising event the Spring 2020 semester, we held an online fundraiser selling fabric face masks to raise money for FoodNet in Tompkins County. For every face mask that was sold, we donated a mask to the West Hills Animal Hospital in Long Island, New York. For our community service projects, sisters either used Charity Miles to raise money for the organization of their choice or contributed to science projects through Zooniverse.
